Who is that dashing fellow succumbing to the embrace of dark chocolate?  It’s Hylas, companion of Hercules, and subject of John William Waterhouse’s sensuous and romantic 1896 painting, “Hylas and the Nymphs”.  The seductive local inhabitants are about to pull him into their spring.  A detail from the painting graces this jewel of a box.
